SURABAYA BATTLE IN PHOTO HISTORY
Battle of Surabaya was the biggest battle in Indonesian History. It took place in November 10, 1945. Indonesian military supported by thousands Indonesian militants tried to throw back Multinational Military Led By English Army.

After Indonesia announced independence in August 17, 1945 , Indonesian militants tried to grab ex Japanese colony. They took Japanese weapons and artileries.
October 25, 1945 5000 Military Armies from 23 multinational countries Led by Mallaby docked in Surabaya. Their mission was to disarmed Japanese soldiers. In fact, they brought Dutch military who wanted to plant their colonization in Indonesia for second time. That had made Indonesians angry.

The biggest fight started on October, 1945. It started at 4.30 30,000 armed militants with 100,000 Indonesian civilian fighters attacked some posts. 18 high multinational officers killed and 384 soldiers died. About 6,000 militants killed.

Leutenant Christison gave ultimatum to Indonesian soldiers and millitants to surender. In silent, the Multinational Soldiers entered 24,000 soldiers and 1500 marinirs to Surabaya. The ultimatum didn't work. Again Major Mansergh

Surabaya Governor Soeryo rejected the ultimatum on 10 November, 1945. 10 November , 1945 at 6 PM, English soldiers bombed ragely Surabaya. Hundreds of civilians were killed.
